Our Mission & Vision

Every child’s journey is different. No two infections, experiences, or treatment plans are the same. These brave parents and kids are sharing their stories so you can understand how STEC and harmful bacteria changes lives. By learning more, we can prevent the spread and support our children. We ask that you hold space for their trauma and respect their vulnerability.

Who We Have Helped

My good friend from LMU started Parker’s Promise, a nonprofit to help those affected with Shiga toxin producing E. coli (STEC) and Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). My niece had a strain of this and was hospitalized. I reached out to Morgan and she was able to help out immediately. Avery made a quick recovery with Morgan’s help. Thank goodness for Parker’s Promise

I’m in tears as a write this. Whenever I posted that Jeremiah had Shiga Toxin Ecoli, Morgan Stine reached out to me, her son was one of the 14 that caught it from lucky Ladd farms last year, she immediately called and told me everything to expect and the to do and not to dos. We’ve been in contact since and today her and her kids brought Jeremiah and I all of these things that were also donated by 3 other families. Jeremiah loves every bit of it, and all he’s asked for since he got here was some goldfish. The look on his face when he seen everything was absolutely priceless. God has blessed us.

I know personally what their care packages did for our little boys during Beckham’s sickness. Not to mention what an advocate she was to our whole family.

Hattie had a big surprise this morning from Parker’s Promise. I know God had his hand in connecting us together and supporting us through all this. Their organization spreads awareness of the E. coli Shiga Toxin infection and HUS. They have checked in on how Hattie is doing daily and answers my endless questions. For anyone that wants to understand this infection more, please check out their page. They are truly amazing

Parker’s Promise has been there to support us and other families through our STEC HUS illness. They have messaged, called, guided and supported our family. I can’t thank them enough for everything.

Parker’s Promise had these balloons sent to Bentley which made his day!

Thank you so much to Parker’s Promise for sending the girls each a care package. They absolutely love the goodies and it definitely lifts the spirits of being in the hospital and continued doctors visits and lab work. Hopefully soon we can get some normalcy back.

We want to send a hugh Thank You out to Parker’s Promise for the wonderful care package that was sent to Blake. He is continuing to improve everyday and was super excited to receive this. Look at that smile. Little sister wanted to be in the picture.

We got to meet a very special family for the first time recently! When we landed in the PICU almost 8 months ago I received a phone call from someone I had never met or heard of before, Morgan Stine. She introduced herself as both a parent of a child who had STEC and a medical professional who understood both it and HUS. She calmly encouraged me as best as anyone could at that point and I remember her telling me “I am so proud of you” It took me by surprise, because the last thing I felt in that moment was confidence I was understanding what was happening the way I needed to. But Morgan had done this before with her son Parker and that’s why her and Paul Stine formed Parker’s Promise. Now her ministry was helping other families, like ours, through the roller coaster of HUS. I’m pretty sure we spoke every day after that, for the next 44 days. It was never too late or too early to update her or ask her questions. And both her and Mary Martin prayed non-stop! All that she posted they absolutely did do for us! Just having them by our side alone would have been enough, but it was as if we were drowning and they came by and literally pulled us out of the water and reminded us to look up and set our eyes on Jesus. Many of you have made comments of admiration of our faith during that time, but God gave us so much strength through the support of Morgan, Mary, and Parker’s Promise. We are forever grateful, and invested in their ministry. And to meet them while in Nashville was a dream come true! Our kids played great together and we just chatted along like old friends!
